Our mission is to guide you in making informed choices, so you can truly appreciate what goes into crafting premium products.
Threads Unveiled: Exploring Fabric and Weaving
Made from 100% Cotton

Fabric, the material used in textiles, encompasses an array of fibers that can either be natural or synthetic. These fibers, such as cotton, linen, silk, or wool, contribute to the fabric's composition. Cotton is the most common fiber found in sheet manufacturing, because it provides excellent softness, breathability and moisture absorption.
Decoding Thread Count: The Hidden Insights
At Home Pride, we've carefully selected a thread count range of 200 to 500, as this thread count range aligns perfectly with our commitment to crafting high-quality bed sheets.

Thread count is the number of threads woven together in a square inch of fabric. Contrary to common belief, a higher thread count doesn't always correlate with better quality bedsheets. Some Manufacturers sometimes misrepresent thread counts above 500, as they may employ multi-ply construction to strengthen lower-grade cotton or might use lower quality, thinner threads and increase the thread count to create the illusion of higher quality. This can result in sheets that feel stiff, less breathable, and prone to pilling. Consequently, an excessively high thread count can potentially indicate the presence of a lower-quality sheet.
Understanding the significance of Fiber Length

Long Staple Fiber
Short Staple Fiber
At home prides, we are dedicated to using only long-staple cotton because it produces fibers that are unmatched in terms of length, strength, and quality. Longer cotton fibers can be spun into yarns that are not only stronger but also finer, resulting in exceptionally smooth and supple weaves. In contrast, shorter fibers tend to protrude from the weave, leading to a fabric that feels coarser and is comparatively weaker
Single-Ply vs Multi-Ply Yarn

At home prides, we have a strict preference for single-ply yarn as it yields the most exquisite and durable threads. Single-ply yarn can only be crafted from long-staple cotton, resulting in sheets that are lightweight, soft, and remarkably long-lasting. In contrast, multi-ply yarns consist of multiple weaker fibers twisted together, creating a deceptive appearance of strength. These yarns often employ lower-grade, shorter-staple cottons, leading to thicker, coarser, and heavier threads.
Woven Using Supreme Weaving Techniques

Weaving involves the interlacing of two sets of yarns, known as the warp and weft, to form a cohesive fabric structure. The warp threads are stretched on a loom vertically, while the weft threads are woven horizontally through the warp. Different weaving techniques can be employed to create various characteristics within the fabric. The two best weaves used for sheets are percale and sateen.
Percale weave is a simple and tightly woven pattern that creates a crisp and matte fabric. It is characterized by a one-over-one, plain weave structure, where the weft thread passes over and under each warp thread in a consistent manner. Percale weave results in a breathable, smooth, and durable fabric with a cool feel, making it a popular choice for cotton sheets
Sateen weave is a more intricate pattern that produces a smooth and lustrous fabric. It is characterized by a four-over-one or three-over-one weave, where multiple weft threads float over several warp threads before interlacing. This weaving technique gives sateen sheets a soft and silky touch, as well as a subtle sheen. Sateen weave is known for its luxurious drape and is often favored for its smooth and cozy feel.
Neither is better than the other; it's a matter of personal preference. Percale weave is ideal for those who prefer a crisp and lightweight feel, while sateen weave is suitable for those seeking a softer and more luxurious experience.

Recycled Down Alternative Microfiber
Recycled down alternative microfiber is a synthetic filling material made from recycled polyester or other synthetic fibers, designed to mimic the warmth and loft of natural down without using animal products. It's created by processing recycled materials into soft, fluffy fibers, offering sustainability, hypoallergenic properties, and durability in bedding products.

Why Recycled Down Alternate Microfiber
-
Recycled materials reduce the demand for new resources by repurposing existing waste, thus minimizing environmental impact.
-
Unlike natural down, microfiber filling is hypoallergenic. It's an ideal choice for those with allergies or sensitivities.
-
Contrary to common belief it offers a similar level of comfort as associated with natural materials.
-
Natural down may clump or flatten over extended use unlike microfiber filling which maintains its loft and shape over time.
-
It provides a cruelty-free and vegan-friendly alternative to traditional down, appealing to individuals who prioritise animal welfare.
-
Microfiber filling can offer all-season comfort as it helps regulate temperature and moisture, ensuring you stay cozy without overheating.
At Home Pride, we're dedicated to providing an array of duvet options that cater to your distinct preferences. Our selection features not only down alternative microfiber but also duvets filled with bamboo, milk, and 100% cotton, each offering its own remarkable benefits.
